Arri Amira - Cinema Camera Setup and Operation - Crash Course

In this video you'll learn how to set up and operate the Arri Amira ENG style cinema camera. Many filmmakers are intimidated by cinema cameras like Arri and RED, but these cameras are often much more user-friendly and intuitive than others. First, I show you a timelapse of a basic camera build with all the most common accessories you'll mount to it, including an external 7’’ Small HD monitor, a Tilta Nucleus follow focus, and a Teradek wireless video transmitter. These accessories are powered by a D-tap splitter velcro’d to the back of the camera, with SDI cables routed to the camera’s SDI inputs on the back as well. From there, I show you how to adjust the basic camera settings including the framerate, shutter speed, ISO, and white balance. Then I dive deeper into the menu settings to show you how to format a memory card, change your project settings, and customize the user buttons. I also point out where all the user buttons are on the body of the camera and on the EVF. Finally, I explain what the switches on the camera do and where they’re located, including the internal ND switch, ISO and white balances switches. This is just the basics, but it’s enough to get you started and to cover your bases in most situations.
